CHRISTINE KERSHNER Obituary

KERSHNER, CHRISTINE "CHRIS" COBBLE, age 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2011. She was born April 3, 1934 in Bartow, Florida and was the daughter of the late
William B. Cobble and Nellie
Lorraine Smith Cobble Maddox. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, William B. Cobble, Jr. and Kenneth Cobble. Chris is survived by her husband of 47 years, M.F. Kershner of Longwood; children, Sandy Greth (Ed) of Statesville, NC, Sabrina Evans of Sanford, Sheri Caldwell of Orlando; two grandchildren, Kristen Cline (Donovan) of Newton, NC, Jackson Caldwell of Orlando and four great-grandchildren. Before moving to Florida in 1963, she was employed by Delmar Publishing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Chris was a loving dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a competitive bridge and gin player, an avid golfer, an active member and past president of the Women's Golf Association of the Rolling Hills Golf Club and was a volunteer at PGA and LPGA tournaments for many years. She was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. A private family interment service will be held at Highlands Memory Gardens, Apopka, followed by a special memorial service to celebrate her life from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 25th, at the Rolling Hills Golf Club in Longwood. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Hospice of the Comforter, 480 West Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714
