I'm a composer who shared a recording session with Dick in October 2000 with the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra in Olomouc, Czech Republic. I didn't know him prior to meeting him then, but found him to be a kind and good-humored person whose devotion to his music was inspiring. I was very sorry to hear of his passing and I wish his family all the best in the future. You can be very proud of the musical legacy he left behind. Being a composer produces a kind of immortality, one of the few real benefits of the trade, and I hope that realization is comforting to you at this time.
