Mildred Laing Obituary

LAING MILDRED FERRELL age 94 of Lake Butler, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 20, 2013 at the Suwannee Valley Haven Hospice Care Center surrounded by her family after an extended illness. Ms. Laing was born on May 6, 1919 in Calvary, GA to the late John H. and Lula Popell Ferrell. Ms. Laing lived most of her life in the Orlando area and was a homemaker; she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Orlando as well as the Homemakers Club in Orlando. Ms. Laing loved to cook and sew; she also was a very avid gardener as well. Ms. Laing is preceded in death by her loving husband: William Myles Laing; sister: her sister: Marguerite Strickland; brothers: Jay B. Ferrell, Kenneth Ferrell, Clarence Ferrell and John Henry Ferrell; and her daughter-in-law: Anne Easom Laing. Ms. Laing is survived by her daughters:
Sandra Bennett (Bobby) of Lake Butler and Marie Laing (Ron
Warfield) of Orlando; son: William Mitchell "Bill" Laing of Jacksonville and her sister: Catherine Bryne (John) of San Antonio, Texas. Three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Ms. Laing will be conducted on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Archer Funeral Home with Rev. Emory Eunice officiating. Internment will follow at later date in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Orlando, FL. The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 12-1 P.M. (one hour prior to the services) at the funeral home. Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler is in charge of arrangements,
