Sometimes hurt is needed to make us grow. Failure is needed to make us know. Loss is needed to make us gain.
We often say that we don't know the value of our loved ones until we lose them... but the reality is that we never thought of losing them... Sir i miss you and love you dearly!

Word cant express the feeling i feel. We lost a wonderful soul. Todd was always there to give me advice. Some i didnt wanna hear but know linger in my head because he was right. He was an awsome guy full of life. He taught me about life and guided me to live for the lord. Ill never forget that. he was so down to earth alway made me laugh. He was such a hard worker and loved his family dearly. And boy did he love a good plate of food. He made an impact in my life and many others. We talked about how good heaven would be and how god was so great . How can anyone reject him. He would always tell me how many people they saved on his mission trips. he was a proud christian and a devoted father. He loved to hunt travel and loved to ride his bike. He will be surely missed. I hope that this tragity will bring people closer to the lord . He will be proud. Gone so soon but i know we will meet again at the pearly gates . R.i.p Todd my love for you will never fade. Your words of encourgement will forever be with me. Untill we meet again I Love You!

He was a great friend and a character to all of his schoolmates. His jokes were side splitting and the stories he could tell would paint a picture in your mind like a short video. Through the years we would bump into each other at the store or eating breakfeast at his favorite place. His life is now complete and his soul lives forever with God in Heaven. We all now have to wait are turn for that reunion with all are loved ones in Heaven. His life was a celebration of the gift Christ gave to all.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Metts families. I grew up down the street from Todd in Lake Monroe and remember he and his older brothers running up and down those country roads with my brothers way back when. In later years, I remember seeing him here and there around Osteen, as we both came to live in the general area of each other once again. Todd was always smiling and cheerful and always gave a hug. I am so sorry I cannot be at his memorial today. Please know that I am thinking of the family and pray that they find peace and comfort in know he is with the Lord and other family and friends that are there to greet him Home.

I have had the greatest pleasure in having Todd Metts as one of my best friends but more importantly he was my spiritual brother. Todd could always make my day, or days, better just by talking to him, even if it was for 5 minutes. He loved life, loved his family and he loved his friends but it was his love for the lord that made him who he was. I will miss you my brother but I also know that I will see you again on a golden road in our Father's kingdom and it will be glorious!!

It is with a heavy heart I write here today. I have known Todd for over 20 years. Although we were not the best of friends that whole time we have always kept in touch through the years and had become very good friends recently. Todd had been working at my house for the past few weeks up until the day before his big trip. We had many long and heavy conversations about life and death, our families, and mostly about Jesus. Todd talked a lot about his Mom and Dad, his brothers and sister, his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews and little Gabriella. He had a love for all of his family that was very touching to my heart. Todd also talked a lot about his best friend, work out buddy, his Pastor Alan. Of all of it, Todd's love for Jesus and his shameless desire to share the gospel was what impressed me the most. He told me about his love of Billy Graham and listening to his preaching and how amazing it would be when he is called home and how the Lord will say, “Job well done good and faithful servant. He expressed that of all the people that Billy Graham had brought to salvation that the Lord would love us no less just for accepting and believing in Him. Todd talked to me about his mission trips and how much it meant to him to travel and help people that had so much less. He had a friend die just a few weeks ago that had he had just been on a mission trip with and although he was sad he told me, “We are all going to die, you just have to know where you are going. Todd had a way of simplifying everything. He was a good hearted man and I am so glad I was able to get close to him. All that knew him will be so sad of his passing because if you knew Todd there is something you can think of right now that will make you laugh or smile. He was the kind of person that was unintentionally funny. He would make you laugh even if he was not trying. If he were here I know he would not want us to be sad for him though because he is with his Mama, his Daddy, and his Savior and that makes my heart smile. I know how much Todd was looking forward to his trip with his friends and I know he had the time of his life and he died doing what he loved, living life and serving the Lord. I am sad that you did not make it home to be with us, but I know you made it home. I share in grief with his family, his church family, and all of his friends. RIP my friend you were a good and faithful servant. Your friend, Jennifer
