Verna Faulkner Obituary

FAULKNER, VERNA LEE, a long-time resident of Westminster Towers Nursing Home in Orlando, FL, passed away on May 31, 2011. Born in Pink Hill, NC, on October 13, 1916, Verna was predeceased by parents Henry Albert Lee and Minnie Carter Lee of Pink Hill, one brother, Henry Frasier Lee, of Jacksonville, FL, and two sisters: Serena Jane Lee Smith, and Celia Lee Byrd, both of Pink Hill, NC, and loving husband Tom. Verna was an extremely loving and caring Mother of five surviving children: Douglas Earl Jones (Carolyn) of Jacksonville, FL; Patricia Ann Killoy, of Kansas City, KS; Frederick Lee Jones (Penny), of Spokane, WA; and twins Lynwood Harold Jones, of Houston, TX, and Linda Carol Allison (Jimmy), of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Verna moved to Tampa, Florida in 1961, and relocated to St. Petersburg in 1966 upon marrying Tom Faulkner. They both enjoyed big band music and dancing at the St. Petersburg Municipal Pier Ballroom, as well as The St. Petersburg Elks Lodge where they made many friends and greatly enjoyed their many social activities. Her gardening was her passion which was reflected in her beautiful yard. A memorial service will be held in North Carolina at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of the Comforter.
