James Healy Notice
Healy, James 82, died peacefully at his home in Osteen March 3, after a long struggle with renal cell carcinoma. Mr. Healy was a 1953 graduate of the University of Vermont with a degree in economics and served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. He worked for many years for the State of Vermont before moving to Florida in 1976. He and his wife Carol started and owned a printing business in Orlando, Express Press. He ended his career as a senior appraiser for the County of San Diego, California. He and Carol retired and returned to Florida where they built a beautiful life and home on Lemon Bluff Road along the St. Johns River. Mr. Healy is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol Woodward Healy of Osteen, FL, daughter Ellen (Bruce) Adams of Barre, Vermont and sons Michael Healy of Hudson, New Hampshire, John (Shannon) Healy of Maitland, FL and David Healy of Oviedo, FL, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister Lillian Orr, brothers Conrad and Frederick Healy, and special niece Cecily Orr Nuckols. He was a gentle man with a delightful if slightly quirky sense of humor. He was very proud of his children for both their personal and professional accomplishments. Arrangements are being handled by DeGusipe Funeral Home in Sanford, FL with a funeral mass scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, March 8 in the Historic Chapel of All Souls Catholic Church in Sanford, FL. Interment ceremony will be held in the spring at Hope Cemetery in Barre, VT. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the or to the Florida Wildlife Corridor (www.floridawildlifecorridor.org).
