Joseph "Joe" Levy Notice
Levy, Joseph JoeJoseph Levy passed away on May 13, 2014 at the age of 80, his battle with cancer finally over. He was born in the Bronx, New York on Feb. 6, 1934 in the midst of the depression. He was the son of hard working immigrant parents, and as he often said, he had no special skills or talents, but always a desire to work hard. He used to help his parents after school in their combination beauty parlor/ barber shop. It was at the City College of New York (CUNY) that he met his wife Michele, who fell in love with his sense of humor and his persistence. He worked in sales for major companies (Xerox, IBM and Siemens) and always put his wife and children first. He was an adventurous soul. He learned to fly, bought a sail boat, and enjoyed scuba diving and riding motorcycles. He loved traveling with friends and family and all in all, he lived a good life. He was a funny man who always had a joke to tell. He always thought the best thing he did in his life was finding his cousin Boris and bringing their family over to America from Ukraine. He is preceded in death by his beloved son Craig who died too young. He is survived by his wife Michele, his beloved daughter Dr. Jacqueline Levy Kaiser, son in law John Kaiser, grandson Alex Kaiser, step grandsons John and Jason Kaiser, his cherished niece Irina Levy Blumenfeld and his two grandnieces Sofia and Loren Blumenfeld. A memorial service will be held for Joe at one of his favorite places, the University Club of Winter Park on Saturday at 11am. Please tell a friend a joke today in memory of Joe. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the .
