Annie Stagner Notice
Stagner, Annie 92, died on June 15, 2014. She was born September 18, 1921 to William Albert Foster, Sr. and Demoville (Rogers) Foster and was the ninth child of eleven children. A native of Greenville, Alabama, she married Rufus Carlton Stagner on February 18, 1945 then moved to Montgomery, Alabama in 1947, where she was a resident for the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Greenville Guard Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Stagner loved her church family and her Lord; she was a dedicated member of St. James United Methodist Church since 1951 and a member of the Hazel Collins Class and the Friendship Class. She served on several committees. Mrs. Stagner was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by Rufus Carlton Stagner, her devoted husband of 60 years, her mother Demoville (Roger) Foster, her father William Albert Foster Senior, and ten brothers and sisters. Mrs. Stagner is survived by her children and their spouses, R. Charles Stagner and his wife, Renee, of Orlando; Paul Franklin Stagner and his wife, Kim, of Pensacola; Thomas Neal Stagner of Birmingham, and Mary Sue Clark of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Harrison and Aimee Stagner and Lindsey, Melissa and Christina Clark; two sister in laws, Edna and Rose Foster; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leak-Memory Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at St. James United Methodist Church at 11:00am on Saturday, June 21, 2014 with Reverend Allen Newton and Reverend Walter Albritton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Earnest Dean, Jr., Jerry Knotts, Michael Knotts, Jerry Holloway, Eddie Davis and Lamar McDavid. The Friendship Class of St. James United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. James United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 9045 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36117.
