Peggy Windsor

1928 - 2014 | Notice Condolences
Peggy Windsor Notice
Windsor, Peggy loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away on Sunday evening July 6, 2014 in Orlando, Florida after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born on February 16, 1928 to Pansy and Roger Gandy, she seemed predestined to live the exciting life of a world traveler, glamorous hostess and savvy public servant given her astonishing beauty, poise and ability to connect with others. Her accomplishments were many but her pride was her family. A chance meeting with dashing Army Captain Noel Franklin Windsor in 1944 created a beautiful 57-year marriage that lasted until Noel passed away in 2003. They raised two wonderful children, Cynthia and Noel Glenn, from exotic settings around the globe. Peggy's intelligence and skills landed her many coveted professional assignments. During the 1960s and 1970s she held positions with the United States Defense Department (Pentagon), China Airlines, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Air America. After returning from overseas during the Vietnam War, she embarked on a new career in politics as a trusted aide for State Senator John Vogt and Lt. Governor Toni Jennings. During her retirement, she kept an active social life by traveling, golfing and being an active member of the community through the Rosemont Women's Club. Those who knew Peggy will mention her joyous laughter, quick wit, interesting tales, love of animals, keen observations on human nature and - of course - her beauty. She is survived by her children Cynthia Enax and her husband James and Noel Glenn Windsor of Orlando; her sisters Linda Dickerson, Maryjane Coffey and Carole Dixon; her grandchildren Peggy Fitzgerald, Tara Windsor Guiliano, Richard "Army" Miller; great-grandchildren Cameron Fish, Nick Guiliano, Alexis Fish Frost, Desmond Fitzgerald, Adelle Miller and Jacob Deacon Miller; and her step-grandchildren in Texas Lezli Steffen and Stephanie Nidiffer. Funeral services will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Ivanhoe Chapel at 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32804 on Saturday, July 12 at 12:00 pm. A visitation prior to the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. A reception will follow the burial at 1:00 pm. Charitable donations to Share the Care, made in Peggy Windsor's memory, are appreciated. Share the Care: 1524 Formosa Avenue,?Winter Park, FL 32789, 407-423-5311, helpforcaregivers.org
