Dorothea Hill Notice
Hill, Dorothea an active humanitarian all her life, was born in Lewisburg, W. Virginia, July 11, 1922 and passed away July 9th, 2014. After spending her early years in West Virginia, Dorothea moved to Washington DC and embarked upon a career with the US Department of State that would take her around the world as a Protocol Representative on General MacArthur's staff as well as serving with multiple missionary groups in China, Japan, Thailand, Germany, France, and Brazil. It was in Brazil where she met the love of her life, Ray - a US Naval officer. They married and raised five wonderful children: Stan, Pat, Douglas, Kim, and Randy. After the passing of her husband, Dorothea's life dedication was volunteering for over two decades at Lucerne Hospital, Bob Carr Performing Arts, RSVP, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orlando Opera. Dorothea's countless hours of service and dedication earned her the First Humanitarian award and Volunteer of the Year Award. Dorothea is survived by her beloved children and their families: Pat, Doug, Kim, and Randy. She is also preceded in death by her son, Stan. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 15th at 11:00am at the Baldwin Fairchild Ivanhoe Chapel, 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd., Orlando.
