Sands, Scott Scott Francis "Superman" Sands of Orlando, Florida went home to God on July 31, 2014. He was born on August 2, 1966 and passed on to eternal life just two days short of his 48th birthday. Since birth Scott was afflicted with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and battled the disease throughout his life with strength, courage, and a positive outlook. He was a graduate of St. John's University and a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Fraternity. Scott was an accomplished writer and shared his life with people around the world on his blog www.scottsandsalive.com. He was a great role model and an inspiration to his many cousins. Scott is preceded in death by his older brother Joseph and is survived by his parents Nicholas and Lucy Sands; brother, Nicholas; and the love of his life, Rebekah.Visitation will be 6pm to 9pm on Sun., 8/3 and Mon., 8/4, Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd., Gotha, FL 34734. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am Tues., 8/5, Holy Family Catholic Church- Daily Chapel, 5125 S. Apopka-Vineland Rd., Orlando, FL 32819.
