BARTH, ROBERT LEROY 80, of Mount Dora, FL passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 in Mount Dora, FL. He was born in New Martinsville, WV. Mr. Barth was a certified pipe welder and a US Air Force Veteran. He became a certified pipe welder at the age of 21 in 1949, the same year he married his wife, Dorothy. After becoming a certified cross
country pipeline welder he and Dorothy moved across the country 75 times in 12 years while working before they moved to Florida in 1958. Once moving to Florida he worked for Florida Gas before opening Barth's Custom Welding and later becoming an underground utility contractor. After retiring from the underground business in 1994 he built his own RV Park, Lake Saunders RV Resort, which is still in his family today. Mr. Barth is a member of the First Church of Christ, Eustis, FL, a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner and an Elk. He was also a member of the North American Hunting Society, an avid
hunter, fisherman and supporter of the NRA. He is preceded in death by his son, Robby and daughter, Robin Ann. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy J. Barth, Mount Dora, FL; daughter, Laura B. (Rex) Pendergrass, Mount Dora, FL; grandchildren, Courtney Barth, Ashley Barth, Wesley Kashula and Brandon Pendergrass; great grandson Hunter Cole Barth; sister-in-law Jane Barth, Tavares; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11AM, Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Umatilla. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778. BEYERS FUNERAL HOME, Umatilla, FL.
