Betty V. Carswell Notice
CARSWELL, BETTY V., 89, of Spring Lake Heights, NJ, passed away at home with her family by her side. She was born in West Long Branch and raised in Oakhurst. Betty worked at Sears Department Store, Camp Evans as a secretary and a Home Health Care Aide. She lived in Orlando, FL, for 35 years. There she was very active with a women's group called FABS and an organization that helped children with terminal illnesses experience Disney World in Orlando, FL called "Give Kids the World". Betty enjoyed her family, friends and playing the slots at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa, FL. She will be dearly missed. Betty was predeceased by her husband Philip J. Carswell; two sons, Bruce Carswell and Philip J. Carswell; a sister, Norma McKee; and a brother, Hamilton Hodge. She is survived by a sister Shirley Thompson of Long Branch; two daughters, Joan Iannitti of Little Falls, NJ and Dawn Eckman and her husband Howard of Spring Lake Heights; and a daughter-in-law Tiia Carswell of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by three granddaughters and one grandson; Tanya Peterson of California, Colleen Schubel, Sean Gregory and Christine Iannitti of New Jersey; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and one nephew, Sherri Dehn, Alabama, Charlene Gizzi, New Jersey, Carolee
Cole, Florida, Cheryl Parsley, New Jersey, Jackie Lake, Florida,
Deborah Stolley, Florida, Barbie Tieto, New Jersey and Robert McKee, Florida. Arrangements are under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. There will be a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Give Kids the World Att: Development, 210 S. Bass Road, Kissimmee, FL 34746.
