JAMES KEENAN PICKERT

PICKERT, JAMES KEENAN, Jim, age 77, of Orlando, FL., passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010; survived by his beautiful wife of 53 years, Mary Ann Pickert (Patterson) and their four loving children,
Michael, Thomas, Robert, and Ann; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Born April 14, 1933 to Anna Louise (Moynihan) and Aloysius Pickert of Batavia, New York; the youngest of four children; survived by siblings Al, Paul, and Ann; a foreign war veteran, Jim served in the Army in the Korean War; a Roman Catholic, he was a proud Notre Dame University graduate (Business 1954) where he met his wife, Mary, who attended St. Mary's University. Jim appreciated fine furniture and was employed as a manufacturers' representative for several furniture companies, including his favorite, The Conant Ball Company of Gardner, Massachusetts. In recent years, he worked for the Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau. Jim and Mary spent 25 years raising their family in Pleasant Ridge, Michigan before moving to Orlando in 1986. Jim enjoyed Irish humor and reading a good book; he devoured print and television news despite being frustrated by injustice and bureaucracy. Jim will be remembered for his fun-loving attitude, smile and laughter. He will be missed by his loving family. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, Dec., 21, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Orlando. Professional services provided by Dobbs
