ROBERT J. CHAYNE Notice
CHAYNE, ROBERT J., 83, passed away March 18, 2012 at the Orlando VA Community Living Center in Winter Park, FL after a long fight with Alzheimer's disease. Bob was born March 4, 1929 in Miami Beach, FL to Robert and Francis Chayne. Bob was a devoted husband to his wife Billie and a loving father to his daughters Jeannine Chayne and Lorraine Pierson. Son-in-law Frederick T. Pierson and his two grandchildren, Gardner Hart Pierson and Amanda Chayne
Pierson, of Cary, N.C. He is survived by his sister Barbara
Dorfman of Las Vegas, NV; his sisters-in-law Bettie Boulton and
Bonnie Poindexter of Orlando. Also several nieces and nephews. His life embodied the true spirit of "SEMPER FI" always faithful. He served in the Marine Corps 1951/53. Bob came to Orlando in 1972 to be involved as an owner/manager of Barney's Bar-B-Q and
Barney's Steak House. Bob was a former member of the South Orlando Kiwanis Club, Scottish American Society, St. Andrew's Society, and was a Knight Templar of the SMOTJ. He always enjoyed all of his various groups and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty City and Hero's Village At the VA CLC for the loving care they gave Bob in his final years. A Memorial service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church on March 29, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Bushnell National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made in Bob's name to the Orlando VA Volunteer Service, activities account #9135 c/o Natalie Smith, 5201 Raymond St., Orlando, FL 32803 or the , 378 Centerpointe Cir. #1280, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.
