Hi Sandy! Mom and I were so sorry to hear about your dad. I have misplaced your Christmas card with your new address and phone number. Will you please send mom another? She wants to talk with you. Love you girl! Kathi Kelentic Hazan and Margaret Kelentic.

I met Les Moss when I was nine or ten. My dad was in real estate and he rented a beach cottage to Les and his wife Carole for spring training when the White Sox trained in Tampa. I was Les' guest at a White Sox-Dodgers game that spring at Al Lopez Field and Les presented me with a baseball signed by most of the White Sox team. I kept that ball safe at home until the day came that it was needed to keep the neighborhood sandlot game going. And so that autographed ball eventually was put to its intended use, until its cover came off, and it began to unravel. Of course, we taped it up and used it a while longer. Thanks for the memories, Les. You were a fine man.

Great, great contributor to the game of baseball. He caught Satchel Paige, and threw out over 40% of runners dumb enough to try & steal on him. I'm sorry to hear of his passing but at the same time very pleased he was able to live such a long and eventful life.

I am sorry to learn of Les's death. His brother Perry was very helpful when I wrote Les's biography for the Society for American Baseball Research.

I'm from Shreveport, LA and will always remember the summer of 1971, when Les managed the Shreveport Captains in the Dixie Association, a league that only lasted one year. The Captains were a farm team of the California Angels that year. I'm also a Houston Astros fan, and Les was our pitching coach for eight years. Thanks for all your years of faithful service to baseball, Les. Anyone who was around the game of baseball for the last half-century can tell you who Les Moss is. May you rest in peace.
