DIVINE, ANN WILSON, passed away on February 2. She was born in Centerville, IA on March 7, 1927 to Wayne and Cleone Wilson. She grew up on farms in Iowa and then earned her BA and MA degrees in French from the University of Iowa. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and after graduation, became a teacher. She met her husband,
Allen (who everyone calls Larry) in college and they were married on Nov 29, 1952. They moved to Winter Park in 1957 when Allen transferred to Orlando with Lockheed Martin. In 1976, after her sons were grown, she returned to teaching for several years at Winter Park HS and Cherokee MS. In 1958, Ann joined Winter Park Presbyterian Church and later transferred to 1st Presbyterian Church of Orlando. She served both in many capacities, including several terms as both a Deacon and an Elder. Her most cherished role was being a Stephen Minister because she loved providing Christian care and support to people going through difficult times. Ann is survived by her husband Allen, her sons, Russ (Janice) of Orlando and Bill (Lori) of Panama City, her grandchildren, Alexandra, John, Rebecca and
Rachel (Gabe), her sister, Jane Gruen (John) and niece, Julia Gruen, of NYC, and her sister-in-law, Gail Sims of Orlando. Memorial Service will be held on February 8 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at 1st Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Reception to follow in King Parlor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Heart of the City Foundation, Ann Divine Scholarship Fund, 106 E Church St, Orlando, FL 32801
