Notice Condolences

Bean, Marte Mariage 71 of Orlando, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013. Marte was born in Nes, Hedmark, Norway and moved to Orlando in 1964 to marry the love of her life, George R. Bean, and to pursue her dreams both personally and professionally. She had a passion for reading, working in her garden, spending time with her family and friends, and she utilized her skills in bookkeeping, office management, and executive support working for several private companies and individuals for over 40 years. She was deeply committed to her church and several Scandinavian organizations which created lifelong friendships and bonds. Marte waged a courageous battle with ovarian cancer for four and a half years, demonstrating her character and serving as a lesson in elegance, grace, and courage. Marte was preceded in death by George Bean, her loving husband of 39 years and is survived by her son Chris (Catie) Bean and daughter Karen (Steve) Gilmer of Orlando; grandchildren Jacob Gilmer and Bodhi Guy Healey; and siblings Nils (Kari) Stabo-Eeg, Sigrid (Fritz) Andreassen, Karin (Tore) Vatn, and Kjersti (Bernt) Reitan. A memorial service will be held at 3PM on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church, 1600 South Orlando Avenue, Winter Park. Memorial contributions may be sent to the St. John Lutheran Church in memory of Marte Mari Bean.
