Angeline Pierce Obituary
Born in 1934 in Caro, Ange married Robert C. Newman in 1950, and together with five children moved to Oscoda in 1969.
They owned Oscoda Realty and Insurance Agency. She was instrumental in the formation of the Blue Snow Arts Council, located in Oscoda, and also helped launch the Art on the Beach shows. In 1978, Angeline started the State Street Gallery, a fine art gallery and frame shop that featured Michigan artists.
Ange was a very avid supporter of the arts. And upon retirement from State Street Gallery, she pursued her love of painting, and her paintings were on display in a local gallery in Saluda, N.C.
Ange loved playing bridge, reading, being with family and friends and taking care of the environment.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Robert C. Newman, who died in 1989, Ange married Charles S. Pierce of Pierce's Point in 1991. They were happily married for 16 years. She is also preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Brenda M. Wilson.
She is survived by her daughters, Valerie A. Alday, Nancy A. Harris (Phillip) and Theresa Wynne Erickson (Dave); as well as her son, David J. Newman (Priscilla); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Our sympathy to Ange's family. We first met Ange at the State Street Gallery. We began playing bridge with Ange and Charles in Oscoda then discovered we were almost neighbors in FL. For many years had dinner and played bridge weekly in the winters. The last few winters with Ange and John. We shall miss her. She was such a spunky lady, we had lots of fun together. God Bless!
