Cora Delynn "Linnie" McPharison of Tawas City passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, June 23, 2012, age 57 years.
Linnie was born in Detroit on June 26, 1954 to her parents, Robert and Evelyn (Adams) Douglas. She was a very hard working woman and was employed by Starboard Industries in Tawas City for 20 years. Linnie then moved to the Saginaw area where she worked for TRW (formerly Delphi) for six years.
It was her final wish to return home to Tawas and be with her family and those she loved. Linnie was a proud member of the UAW she belonged to and loved and respected the friends she made within the organization. A Christian woman who deeply loved God, Linnie was a very spiritual woman who had a deep interest in Native American culture and rituals and found great comfort and peace being close to nature. Those who knew her will always remember how she absolutely adored and cherished her children and grandchildren.
Linnie is survived by her two loving sons, Jeremiah (Gina) Raymond of Mt. Morris and Justin McPharison of Mt. Morris; five beloved grandchildren, Monica, Felicity, Autumn, Reis and Aurora; her parents, Robert (Barbara) Douglas of Arlington, Texas and Leonard (Carol) Burdek of Tawas City; four sisters, Diana Georgieff of Tawas City, Debra (Randy) Jacob of Tawas City, Donna Bell of Tawas City and Shannon (Eric) Abbott of Kentucky; three brothers, Robert (Darlene) Douglas of South Carolina, Virgil (Doris) Douglas of Belleville and Michael Douglas of Texas; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends; and her beloved cat, Lucy. Linnie was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Anderson; and two nephews, Kenneth Georgieff and Steven Douglas.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 29 at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A memorial service and luncheon will follow the visitation and will be held on Friday June 29 at 3 p.m. at Oscoda Pentecostal Lighthouse Church with Pastor Steven Goss officiating.
