JoAnn Muchow of East Tawas passed away at age 75 on December 24, 2013.

Born in Tawas Township to John and Fern Birkenbach, JoAnn was adopted at age 9 by George and Wilma Biggs.
She graduated from Tawas Area High School in 1956 and married Thomas Muchow from Alden, New York on December 10, 1960. JoAnn loved her family, her friends and her cats. She was a wonderful mom and grandma to her children and grandsons, and like a mom and a grandma to many others who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Ligaya) Muchow; daughter, Shari Busse and her fiance Brian Klessig; five grandsons, (Joseph, Steven, Ryan and Ryley Muchow, and Travis Busse); her sisters, Nancy Voag, Kathy (Bob) Markiewicz, and Jackie Colburn; her brothers, Clare (America) Birkenbach, Ervin (Phyllis) Biggs and Richard (Mary) Long and her special friend Ted Trudell; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, in 2004, her parents, and brothers Bill Biggs, Wayne Biggs and Bill Cox.
Cremation has taken place according to her wishes. Those considering an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Animal Humanitarians of Iosco County.
Arrangements were made by Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2014, followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery, East Tawas. Details will be shared at a later date.
