Emile LeBLANC

LeBLANC, Mr. J. Émile
April 13th, 1923 - February 1st, 2013
He died peacefully with his family at his side at the age of 89 years and 9 months at the Perley and Rideau Veteran's Health Centre, where he resided since November 2008. Beloved husband of Jacqueline Jean. Loving father of six children: Jocelyne, Louise (Jacques Nadeau), Claire (Pierre Dufresne), Anne Évangéline, Sylvie-Andrée (Jean Luc Lavallée) and David (Raymonde Moreau). Cherished grandfather of six grandchildren : José, Chantal, Marika, Vincent, Simon and Marc-André and great-grandfather of six great-grandchildren: Camille, Alexandre, Sébastien, Emmanuel, Maxime and Loïk. He is also survived by his sisters Blanche and Lorraine and by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends. Émile was born in Campbellton (N.-B.). He served in France during World War II. He was a representative for The National Film Board in Gaspésie and New-Brunswick from 1954 to 1963, and in Montréal from 1963 to 1966. He was Director of Personnel and then Director General of the Edmundston Hospital from 1966 to 1974, Director General of Sacré-Cœur Hospital in Hull from 1974 to 1976 and Director General of the Centre d'accueil Champlain in Ottawa from 1976 to 1984. A Memorial Service will be held at the Perley and Rideau Veteran's Health Centre, Lipton Hall, 1750 Russel Road, Ottawa, Friday February 8th at 2 p.m. The family will be present for condolences at 1 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charitable organization of your choice or to the Perley and Rideau Veteran's Health Centre.
