MAKI, Heli Ellen
Heli left us on Saturday, June 15, 2013. She passed peacefully in her sleep. She is pre deceased by her loving husband Tauno; and survived by her loving daughters Kathrina Healey and Toni Vingar; granddaughters Kara and Anna Vingar; son in law Phil Healey; nieces and grand-nieces from Finland, Irma, Nanni and Venni Akkola; the Hubbard family of Corene, Bruce, Gail, Jamie, Willie, Kitty and their families; good friends Gene and Ileen Healey and their family, Anne Marie McLaren and Marilyn Shaw; and many other friends. She worked as a successful real estate agent in Ottawa for decades; was a proud honorary member of the WRENS and the Engineer's Wives; was an avid gardener and wildlife and nature enthusiast; lived a full happy life and brought joy to all who knew her. In recognition of her love for wildlife, donations may be made to the Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre. The memorial service will be held at ST. MARK'S LUTHERAN CHURCH (263 Victoria Street at Earl Street) Kingston, on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Steve Hoffard and Padre William Hubbard officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. The family also wishes to extend their gratitude to those individuals from the Red Cross, the Kingston General Hospital, and Fairfield Manor East, who provided Heli with compassionate care and friendship.
