Reverend James D. Sorley passed away peacefully at home, in Plattsburgh, New York on November 27, 2012 in his 86th year. James was born in Ottawa on April 4, 1927, the son of the late John Neil Sorley and Eunice Blair Sorley. He is fondly remembered by his wife Elsa Motz, his four daughters, Margot La Hart, Sheila Tavares (Bill), Karen Brieant (Adam) and Gwen Freer (Peter) and by his seven grandchildren James and Ian La Hart, Noah and Natalie Tavares, and Alexis Cameron and Lauren Brieant. James is survived by his sisters Isabelle Hume and Margaret Sorley and by his sister-in-law Audrey Sorley. He is predeceased by his brothers Hugh C. Sorley and Neil C. Sorley. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, December 3rd, at Plattsburgh, New York United Methodist Church. Interment at Lake Placid Cemetery.
