Bill died on February 5th, 2014, in his 81st year at Carleton Lodge. He will always be in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife Sharon (nee Hept) and was the loving father of Jennifer Terry (Evan) and Peter Blakeman; he was proud Grand Dad to Hope Laverdière and Caitlin and Simon Terry. He will be missed by his brother James, sisters-in-law Wanda Gaylor (Chuck), Mary Lou Collins, Roberta Darner (Pat), and brother-in-law Edward Hept (Debby), and his many nieces and nephews and their families. The family would like to extend special thanks to his private care workers Anna R., Anna J. and Leonila G. and to the staff at Carleton Lodge for their compassionate and supportive care. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 5th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor). A funeral mass will be held at Holy Cross Parish, 685 Walkley Road, on Thursday, March 6th at 10:30 am. Words of Remembrance and the reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Interment will take place at the Vermont Veteran's Cemetery in late May. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County would be appreciated.
