McEWEN, Norman Patrick
Suddenly, in Ottawa, Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the age of 74. Devoted and loving husband to Saundra McEwen. Beloved father to Scott McEwen (Kelly), Rosanne Wall (Brian), Ian Portigal (Tracey) and Sherri Dennett (Alistair). Proud grandfather to Megann, Danny, Amanda and Arthur. Caring brother to Sean McEwen (Kriss). Wonderful friend to Dee McEwen and Maggie Taylor. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family members. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at Sala San Marco Banquet and Conference Centre, 215 Preston Street, Ottawa, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Special Olympics or The Salvation Army. Norm was a great friend to me over many years (more than 30). He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.

I just received the sad news about my old,wonderful friend Norm. We met at speech therapy and Norm was my kind and helpful mentor during that time.

really shows heart & Soul .he might not
be a boxer .but he is a Great volunteer
& be a great male rhythmic gymnastics
volunteer if he was to be live today

Our most sincere condoleances to Norm's family. He was a great friend and model to our daughter Malaika and a extremely devoted volunteer. Malaika who is goin to the Provincial Games in January said that she will win medals for him!

What a gift Norm has been to our community. A role model for all.

Norm was loved and adored by everyone he touched. I met him 7 years ago and made me feel that I was part of a big family and that I have been there for a long time. I want to wish Norm's family my deepest sympathies he will be miss but never forgotten.

My condolences to Norm's family and many friends. I met Norm many years ago through involvement with the Canadian Stuttering Association and was honoured to work with him on behalf of the CSA. His dedication to the stuttering community was truly inspirational. I will miss you my dear friend.
