ROBERT La ROSE Obituary
Peacefully at the Starwood Extendicare, on December 25th, 2013, in his 90th year. Predeceased by his wife Mildred who passed away on November 14th of the same year. Survived by his daughter Mary (Chris Buell) and his grandson Jordan. Bob and Mildred were both legally blind. Despite this difficulty they overcame many obstacles in their lives with laughter, compassion and showing great strength. They raised an independent, free thinking daughter, were home owners who flourished in their community and were very proud grandparents of Jordan. One of Bob's greatest accomplishments was his ability to paint the peak of his house at midnight and ask "Now how's that?" in the morning. At Bob's request a mass will be held at St. Maurice Parish. Details to be announced at a later date. For those wishing, donations may be made to the Great Dane Angels, c/o 89 Grady Crescent, Nepean, Ontario, K2H 5S2.

Mary and family,
I knew your father from having coached him years ago with the Ottawa Blind Curlers. He was a terrific gentleman and we had some great laughs together on and off the curling rink. His recitation of The Cremation of Sam Magee and other Robert Service poems were always the highlight of our Nepean Kiwanis Club curling banquets with the blind curlers. My sincere condolences to you on his passing.
