SUMKA, Ann
Ann died peacefully on the morning of December 30, 2012. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 8, 1918 to Pauline and Michael Sumka. Ann graduated in nursing from St. Boniface Hospital and received her degree in Public Health Nursing from McGill University. She was employed as a nurse by the Department of Indian Affairs in Thunder Bay and subsequently with a number of federal government departments in Ottawa. Ann was predeceased by her brothers Michael and Stephen. She is survived by her niece Ann Scott (Roger) and nephews Greg (Rita) and Marshall Sumka; her great-nephews Michael and Mark Sumka and Ian and Graeme Scott; and her sister-in-law Joan Sumka. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, Somerset Chapel , 585 Somerset Street West, Ottawa, ON K1R 5K1 on Friday, January 11th, 2013 after 10 a.m. Memorial Service in Memory of Miss Sumka in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Arbor Lounge.
