GOEBEL, Barbara Faye (nee Wilson)
January 20, 1930 - November 6, 2012
Retired J. Pascal's Hardware
Peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her sons. She is reunited with her soul-mate Bill, her beloved husband of 58 years. Cherished mother of Mark (Kimberly), Chris (Cherie) and Kurt (Darlene). Treasured grandmother of Kyle Goebel (Breanna), Kaitlin Bouffard (Andre), Kieran Goebel, Braden Goebel, Jason Ouellette (Darlene) and Chris Ouellette (Laura). Great-grandmother of Aidan. Reunited with her parents Anne and Stanley Wilson; parents-in-law Helen and Roy Goebel; sisters Dorothy, Jean, and Betty; brother Allan; brothers-in-law Ken, Joe and Roy; and nephews Stephen and Jamie. Lovingly remembered by sisters Shirley (Jack), Margaret (Dave), and Judy (Henry), by brothers Bill (Geri), Jim (Connie), and John (Joan), and by sister-in-law Rose and brother- in-law Karl. Fondly remembered as "Aunt Barbara" by all of her nieces and nephews: Deborah; Jennifer and Joe; John, Anne-Marie and Carolyn; Cindy; Peter and Lisa; Karen and David; Shane, Kent, and Jason; Carrie, Shaun, and Cassandra; Carolyn, Linda, and Martin; Richard, Susanne, Larry, Wendy, Karen, and Paul. Great aunt of Sarah and Natalie. She met Bill, the love of her life, in the F.W. Woolworth store on Front Street in Belleville when she was working there, and he was the assistant manager. Barbara was a stalwart support to Bill while he was a manager in Trenton, Galt, and finally Ottawa. She was a devoted mother to her family throughout her life. Barbara treasured the time she and Bill spent with their grandchildren during their retirement years in Kars. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: her family, her home, and her gardens. Barbara loved Wilson family reunions as well as her phone conversations with her dear brothers and sisters. During the last year, she fought cancer with great courage, determination, and dignity with the support of her loving family. Barbara and Bill will be interred in the Wilson Family Mausoleum in Belleville Cemetery on November 17th after a service at 2pm in the chapel of the Burke Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12pm -2pm. Sincere thanks to Dr. Gick and nurses Rosa, Audrey, Jocelyn, and Josette for their care, kindness and compassion, and to Dr. Mimeault and Dr. Nagpal. In lieu of flowers, donations to the "Cancer Research Society", 305-200 Isabella St, PO Box 4613 Stn E, Ottawa ON K1S1P7 would be appreciated.
