Dear David, Sandi, Jennifer and Monaghan Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of loss. I prayed for Cathy daily during her illness. From Maureen, I know she walked a hard journey with great courage, determination and "life to the full" I hope you are surrounded and comforted by many family members, friends and wonderful memories of life and love with Cathy.
Sincerely, Paulette Poirier (friend of Maureen)

David, Jennifer and Sandi, please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your wife and mother, Cathy. Cathy and I met around 30 years ago when we emigrated to Canada. Cathy and David were our neighbours and they were super. Cathy was a great help to me. She always invited me in for coffee and we had some great laughs. I found Cathy to be a great mother and wife. She was a good friend. I admired her courage and honesty. We lost touch for many years, but thankfully I met her again this year for some time together. It was a great but sad time. Thank you Cathy for giving me the time to meet you again. Thank you for your courage. You are indeed an inspiration. I will miss you very much.

David, Jennifer and Sandi:
Donna and I have been thinking about your family so much the past few days. We are very saddened by Cathy's passing, but also for the great loss for your family. Over the years we've known Cathy and all of the family we came to learn what a wonderful friend and second family we had in Ottawa. Cathy was Donna's best friend and a person that she could always turn to when she needed sound advice along with the love and caring that you knew came from a friend. Donna and Cathy's mothers shared similar experiences in their later years and Cathy helped Donna through so much in that respect. Both Donna and I know how very fortunate we are to be Cathy's and your friend. After having done so much for us, we are sad at what little comfort we can offer at such a difficult time for all of you. Our thoughts and our prayers will be for Cathy, each of you and your extended family at this time.

David and family. Catherine and I will never forget the kindness and support Cathy always provided us as neighbours. Cathy's recounting of her adventures always gave us a smile and insight into her indominable spirit. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear family: Cathy and I had built a strong bond the last two years after Bob got sick and passed away. She was my rock in my time of need and I had become hers! I will forever remember the meals at St. Hubert BBQ, her sense of humour (oh how she made me laugh!), her smile (totally contagious!), and her never-ending fight-back attitude. You're free of pain now buddy so wherever you are, you can show them all who's boss! My sincere sympathies for your great loss.

I am so sorry that Cathy has gone. I met her in 2006 in a breast cancer support group, Stepping Stones. She had such a zest for life and wonderful sense of humour despite the ravages that the treatment took on her body. It is unfair that her family had to lose her at such a young age. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

To the Becker Family,
My sincere condolances of the loss of your wife, mother, friend, etc... I knew Catherine from Shoppers Drug Mart at Southgate. Every time she would come in we would talk and I really enjoyed her company. Then one day she told me about her illness, and how it progressed. When I did not see her anymore I thought that she was gone but only to know that she was holding on and battling this disease the best way she could. She had a very strong and positive attitude that I admired about her. I will surely miss her talks, and her smile. May she rest in peace and God Bless to you all. You will never ever be forgotten as a customer and as a true inspirational person.

Sincere condolences from Port-Cartier, Quebec

Dear David and family,
I graduated with Cathy from Katimavik High School in 1972 and though our paths never crossed again in the past 40 years, I remember a fun-loving adventurous girl who added much to our class. A light may have gone out, but her spirit will shine forever in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. Rest in peace dear friend...may you bask in the eternal glory of the Creator free of pain in an unending joy. My sympathy to your family and courage in the days ahead.
