Sunday, January 13, 2013 while spending the winter at his home on the islands of Dominica, WI, Wayne, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend was taken from us too soon at age 60. He will be terribly missed by his wife of 31 years and best friend Lynne (nee Bubnich), his children Lia and Mitchell, his mother Dorilla (nee St. Jean), his brother James and sisters Mary Anne Smallwood (Sandy), Colleen (James MacLaren), Sandra (Kirk Robinson). He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, Lynne's parents Michael and Shirley Bubnich, her sisters Gale Anthony (Des) and Debra Brown (Larry), and brother Steve (Catherine). Wayne was predeceased by his father Dennis Carmody (2012). He will also be fondly remembered by his many steadfast friends and co-workers who faithfully stood by him throughout the years. As a proud member of the Ontario Provincial Police, Wayne loyally served his fellow citizens as an officer in Ottawa, Moose Factory and Killaloe, where he retired in 2003. Early retirement allowed Wayne the opportunity to spend time canoing and fishing on his "secret" lakes in Algonquin Park, hunting and cooking gourmet meals with friends and spending summers around a bon fire at their family cottage at Black Bay. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life Killaloe on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Family Helping Family Campaign at St. Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation, Barry's Bay. Funeral arrangement entrusted to Zohr Funeral Home, Killaloe ON.
