PHAN, Dinh Quang
February 8th, 1946 - January 12th, 2013
Dinh Quang Phan, age 66 of Ottawa, Ontario passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12th, 2013 after bravely fighting cancer for the past two and a half years. Dinh was born in Vietnam where he grew up and lived for nearly 30 years. He came to Canada in 1975 and lived in Montreal for a number of years where he earned a Masters Degree in Library Science at McGill University. In 1979, Dinh began his 32-year career as a librarian for the Library of Parliament until his retirement in March 2011. During his spare time, he enjoyed reading, photography, classical music, gardening and spending time with his family. Dinh is survived by his wife, Lan Do, daughter, Trang Phan, son-in-law, Geoffrey Haskell, an older sister, two brothers and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dinh will always be remembered as a principled, devoted and selfless husband and father. A special thank you to his doctors and staff who supported him and his family until the end of his life.
