PALMER, Doris (nee Burleigh)
24 March 1931 – 16 February 2013
Peacefully in hospital on Saturday, February 16th, at age 81. Beloved wife of the late Max Palmer (1978). Cherished mother of Debbie (Jim Linnen), Les (Debbie Armstrong), Bev (David Townsend) and Rick (Janet Murray). Dear sister and friend of Donella (Mike McIntosh) and Hilton. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren; Christine, Sean, Ross, Kyle, Megan, Andrew and Vicki. Proud great- grandma of Logan, Nicholas, Colton, Blake and Gibson.
Doris spent most of her working years in food services at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and after retirement, continued to support the hospital as a volunteer manning the gift shop or delivering snacks and reading material to patients. She was never content to be idle. She loved to be out working in the garden, or knitting/quilting for her grandchildren or for the church bazaar. While at Lynwood there was no stopping her bi- weekly BINGO games (0-66 please…BINGO!).
When she did slow down for a few minutes, she always enjoyed a good cuppa' tea or coffee (Tims) and a chat with her friends.
