Elizabeth MacEwan Obituary

MacEWAN, Elizabeth Turner 16 July 1926 - 3 February 2007 Elizabeth Turner MacEwan (nee Turner Bone) passed away peacefully in Winnipeg on February 3rd at age 80. She is survived by her husband Douglas MacEwan, her children Joanne (Dennis Conrad), Elspeth (Maureen Kellerman), Eleanor (Gordon Weibe) and James (Gwen Allison), and her eight grandchildren: Laura, Grace, Michael, Rachel, Alison, Jack, Stephen and Sarah, and her brother John Turner-Bone. She is predeceased by her sister Margaret Turner Watt. Elizabeth was born in Ottawa and raised in Montreal. She married and taught kindergarten until she had her children. Elizabeth dedicated countless hours to her community. She served the Council of Women of Winnipeg, Provincial Council of Women of Manitoba and The National Council of Women of Canada, as well as The Girl Guides of Canada, McGill Graduates Society - Manitoba Branch and The YWCA and Worship Committee of Westworth United Church. Her husband's radiology career prospered with her enduring support. With Douglas, Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, sailing, skiing and supporting Manitoba's performing arts. The interment will be held in the spring at the MacEwan family plot, in Martintown, Ontario. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet MacEwan Scholarship Fund 380 Graham Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4K2
