NORTON, Elsie Ferguson (nee Melvin)
July 22, 1919 - August 13, 2013
Peacefully in her 95th year, with family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Jack of 69 years. Survived by her four children Mel (Shirley), Gay (Bob), Alex (Mary), and Cathie (Stephen), as well as her sister Joan. Elsie leaves a legacy of twelve grandchildren: Jeff (Sidonie), Nancy, Michael, David (Anna), Kate (Mike), Lindsay (Avery), Meredith (Steve), Elyse, Stacey, Jon (Meghan), Sandy, and Allie. She was also fortunate to be blessed with four great-grandchildren: Iyla, Caden, Ellsa, and Torin. Elsie was dedicated to her family, was delighted to host annual cousin parties, and was particularly proud to help each of her children and grandchildren graduate from university. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH AND BROWN FUNERAL HOME - Ancaster Chapel (905-648-3852), 378 Wilson Street East, on Friday, August 23 from 10-11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Elsie's Life in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or a charity of your choice in Elsie's memory.
