MANSFIELD, Mrs. Enid Gertrude
(nee Hamilton)
After a rich life, and following a courageous battle with cancer, Enid passed away peacefully at home with her husband and children by her side on Friday, January 4, 2013. Enid was the loving wife of James Paris (a.k.a. Peter) and mother of Mark, Catherine (Kate), Peter and Paul. Mother-in-law to Paul Nemy, Marilee Mansfield (nee Lund) and Elaine Mansfield (nee Martin). Enid is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Hyla, Nicola, Morgan, Samuel, Catherine, Maclean, Liam, Claire, Adam and her great -granddaughter, Aroura. Born in South Mountain, Ontario, to her parents Hazel and Samuel on August 5th 1932, Enid completed her educational training at McMaster University and The Ottawa Teacher's College. She began her career in the Ottawa School System and eventually became a Supervisor in Special and Physical Education. Enid left her teaching career in 1959 to begin raising her young family. At Enid's request, cremation has taken place. The Mansfield family will receive friends at JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A memorial service to both celebrate her life and mourn her loss will take place at Fonthill United Church with the Revenend Dr. Gary van Bruchem officiating on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. The Family would like to extend their thanks to everyone at Saint Elizabeth Healthcare for the compassion and care they provided to Enid.
