LAVERY, Frederick George (Fred) Passed away peacefully in his 86th year at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on September 14, 2007 after a brief illness. Fred was the beloved husband of the late Myrtle Lavery (nee Cross) and the father of Frederick Norman Lavery and wife, Barbara, of Calgary and Elaine Marks of Peterborough. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his children and his grandchildren: Kerry Johnson and husband Paul, Andrew Lavery, Matthew Lavery and wife Jennifer, Alisha Marks and Elizabeth Marks, and great-grandchildren: Riley, Sydney and Robson. Fred is survived by his brother Jack Lavery and wife Doris and his many nieces and nephews, especially Beth, John G., Janet, Ted, Diana, John L., Glenda, Marion and Martin, and all the rest of Fred's nieces and nephews. Elaine would like to specially thank Beth and Doris for visiting and assisting Fred every day during his hospitalization and the support of family and friends during this difficult time. A memorial gathering will be held at the Air Force Club at 274 King Street, Peterborough on Saturday, September 15th at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Parkinson Society Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to Comstock Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, 705-745-4683.
