Weird, I just mentioned you, my right hand man "G" from Maximum PC's folding section. We worked well together.

I'm late to this list of condolence because I too have been fighting health problems.
Gordon you and I had some very helpful "talks" when I first got sick and I'll always remember and appreciate your time and words.
May you always be remembered,

Condolences and regards to the Gordon & Rose Smitheman family. I knew them from an online forum. They were awesome people. I spent many hours reading the words of Mr. G and sometimes laughing at his jokes and humor 'till it hurt. They will both be missed. Even by us who have never personally met them before. Their words were always so kind and thoughtful. Mr. and Mrs. G, you both were icons of our age. Thanks for your friendships. God Bless you and keep you both.

Gordon, you have been such an inspiration to SO many people worldwide! Your dedication and work to the Folding@Home project is not only laudable, but a beacon for others to gather around.
Our conversations while I was first dealing with my Traumatic Brain Injury from Iraq helped me out tremendously. Your faith, service and friendship shall be greatly missed my brother. Since you always liked my photos, here is one I will dedicate to you, Gordon. -Tom AKA Quakindude on Maximum PC forums.

Gordon, your impact as the Global Ambassador of Folding on its enthusiasts and scientific results cannot be underestimated. The team will be raising money and donating a memorial computer server in your and Rose's name in perpetuity to Stanford, so contributors to the project will receive work forever linked to your names as an internet address. I had the honor of knowing you personally and you were as fine the definition of an American gentleman as I have ever known. Until we meet again.... Michael McCord, M.D., Beaumont, TX

I only knew Gordon online, where he was a motivating force to many in the computing project Folding@home. He struck me as a man with a heart of gold. Gordon leaves behind a great legacy within the F@H community, especially at Team Maximum PC. Yours is a shared loss, as I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences to Gordon's family and friends.
