Age 88 formerly of Montreal, Calgary, Saint John NB and Ottawa passed away peacefully at her home in Bedford NS on Friday, January 11, after a lengthy illness. Born in Worcester, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ada (Tompkins) Noakes of Leicester, England who immigrated to North America and finally settled in Montreal, Quebec in 1929. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred, daughter, Elizabeth Follett (George) of Prospect Bay, NS, son Robert (Suzanne) Turnbull of Ottawa, ON, grandchildren, Heather, David, Michael, Geoffrey and Michelle and great grandchildren, Eva and Maya. She was predeceased by her sister Linda Haynes of Montreal. Fred's position in the business world resulted in moves to various locations in Canada and Grace very easily made friends wherever they lived. She had many interests including reading, music, dancing, sewing, political discussions and above all, visits with her children and their families. She sponsored a World Vision child and followed his progress and contributed to many charities. Grace's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all connected with Capital Health Palliative Care. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 16, 11am in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Hfx NS B3S 0E1(455-0531), followed by a reception.
