GORMAN, Gregory Joseph (QC)
The Guest Book is expired.
Peacefully in hospital surrounded by and with the love of his family, in his 89th year. Devoted and loving husband for 57 years to ShirleyAnne Gorman (nee Read). Much loved father of Julia (Bill Wright), Paul (Barbara), Anna (Jonathan Ferrabee), John Arthur (Leigh Dousett), and Nora. Proud Bompa to Fiona, Meghan, Gregory, Katie, Brendan, Liam, Julia, Sarah, Rowan, Brenna and Colin. Predeceased by his brother Lorne of Ottawa. Greg's extraordinary thoughtfulness and intelligence were only exceeded by his focus on his family, who will greatly miss his story telling, enthusiasm and keen interest in their every adventure and accomplishment. One of his many great legacies is the more than 40 year tradition of summers at White Pine that will continue to build the strong family bonds that meant so much to him. Greg was born in Buckingham, Quebec to the late Arthur and Louise Gorman (nee McCormick), where he spent idyllic boyhood summers that gave rise to a lifetime of joyful stories and memories. Greg was raised in the Glebe in Ottawa and graduated from St. Patrick's College and Osgoode Hall Law school. Following a successful career at the legal firm Clark, MacDonald, Connolly and later Honeywell Wotherspoon, where he was heavily involved in energy and pipeline issues, Greg was appointed Vice Chairman of the Tariff Board and was President of World Trade Centre Canada. Greg will be fondly remembered as a kind and gracious gentleman who greatly loved his family, who lived his religious beliefs, and who treated everyone he met with dignity and respect. He left us all a gift of faith: that those who have lived in love, never see each other for the last time.
