Kevin, Caroline and family, we were greatly saddened to learn of Ian's passing only this afternoon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I admire your courage to share Ian's cause of passing such that others will learn from it. This sparked a sincere conversation with our own children this evening. Further appreciate that Ian's organs were used to save 4 other lives. Sincerely,

We can only imagine how you are feeling. To lose such a great kid must be devastating. The number of people at today's service should reinforce the fact that Ian was loved by so many. Our thoughts are with your whole family and our prayers with Ian.

Though I didn't know Ian well, seeing him at school on a daily basis was something that could easily put a smile on my face, and I know so many of our peers felt the same way. He was a wonderful, kind person, and I consider myself privileged to have had the oportunity to know him, and talk to him in philosophy club. My sincerest condolences to his family as well as his close friends. My heart goes out to you, and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

The Stone Family:

I send you my deepest sympathies during this most difficult and painful time. I cannot even begin to understand how you feel. Although never his teacher, I remember Ian from the hallways and playground when I taught at MHES - always a polite, thoughtful and responsible child - a great kid. Shannon and family, may you always keep the special family times and memories of Ian close to your hearts.

I had the privilege of being Ian's English teacher in grades 3 and 4. Even at such a young age, Ian was a gifted writer. My fondest memory of Ian is of him holding his class spellbound each day for a week as he read to us each successive installment of the novel he was writing. What a pleasure it was to teach Ian. He would grab hold of a creative writing assignment and run with it. I always looked forward to reading anything he wrote.

My prayers and thoughts are with you Caroline, Kevin, Caitie, Shannon and Grandma Lynn

Ian was a delight to coach last year. He brought an abundance of energy to the hockey dressing room. Ian was able to keep the players focused and not lose faith. His attitude and positiveness will be missed. We will never forget your words of wisdom. RIP Ian.

Mr. and Mrs. Stone & family:

Our deepest sympathies to you during this most difficult time. We had the pleasure of getting to know Ian through last years Nepean Ice Dawgs hockey team. My husband, Kirk, had the privilege of helping coach Ian last season and as well, our son, Jordan, had the privilege of skating along side him and becoming friends during the course of the season. They have nothing but fond and fun memories of Ian in the dressing room and on the ice. Ian was a kind and caring kid and was a great hockey player and asset to our Nepean Ice Dawgs team.

RIP Ian - "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die"

Dear Kevin, Caroline, Caitlin, Shannon and Aunt Helen,

I just learned of Ian's passing and read the guest book entries. Although I haven't seen you in years Kevin, and I never met your wife and family, I can see Ian was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, and friend by what is written about him. It is a brave and admirable way to honour him in your grief by sharing Ian's cause of passing. My sincerest heartfelt sympathy to all of you.
