Sadly on Monday, January 28, 2013, Joan Ardith "Ardie" Cunningham (nee Waller), passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Mom was born Sept 12, 1933 in Halifax, NS and was the loving wife of John Kennedy Cunningham, Ottawa. Ardie was a loving and caring Mom of her 4 girls, Joan Irwin (d.1982), Janet Irwin (d.2000), Heather Irwin, Bedford, NS and Mary (Mike) Hippern, Bedford, NS. Nanny was very proud of her two awesome Grandsons, Mitchell and Scott Hippern, both of Bedford. Ardie is also survived by her Step- daughter Catherine (Gene) and was predeceased by her Step-son Michael (Andre). Mom always had pets over the years and will be greatly missed by her dog Taffy, her little buddy. Ardie had many fond memories of her years growing up as the only daughter of Vivian (Crawford) and Albert Waller. Mom is survived by two brothers, Donald and Jack, and was predeceased by her brother Doug. Growing up they lived in Halifax, Dartmouth, Truro and Amherst and spent summers in Tidnish. The extended Waller family includes many nieces and nephews and their families, who Mom loved and always had so much fun with. Mom always had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh (even when she was sick in hospital). When we all first moved to Ottawa in 1972, many life long friends were made. Mom took great pride in these friendships, especially those who called her "Mom". Thank you Dave Hobin, Dave Robertson, Barb Meredith and Mary Jo Latour for all that you did for us through Mom's illness. And thank you Dave Lakelew, her most recent "son" for all of the love and kindness you showed Mom and Jack. It means a lot to all of us. Please join us for a celebration of Mom's life on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the
