LEACH, Leroy (Roy) Moore
August 11, 1925 - December 13, 2012
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Leroy Moore Leach on Thursday, December 13, 2012. Beloved husband of 65 years to Mary Leach (née Burns). Loving father of Jeffrey Leach (Sheryl Izzi), and grandfather of Kierney and Brittany. Survived by close cousin Betty Macleod. Predeceased by sister Lois Read and parents Wellington and Myrtle Leach of Carleton Place. Proud and decorated WWII veteran of the SD&G Highlanders. Roy lived a full life and played many competitive sports including hockey, fastball and canoeing in his youth. He was an avid outdoor sportsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. He was a long-time member of the Bells Corners Legion, Ottawa Valley Beagle Club, Kanata Sports Club and well known in the Glen Cairn community for his outgoing and friendly nature. Many thanks to the friends who supported us and the caring staff at Thorncliffe Place Retirement Home. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at The West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroofe Ave at Richmond Rd. on Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.
