ROTSTEIN (nee Feldman), Lilian
October 28, 1918 to November 17, 2012
With sadness we announce the passing of Lilian Rotstein at Hillel Lodge in Ottawa. Predeceased by loving husband Harold (1964), and son David (2008). Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Ann and Terry Smutylo, devoted grandmother of Koby (Michelle Riff), Danny (Anna Birmingham) and Tania (Sean Bradley) and adoring great- grandmother of Audrey, Adrienne, Ezra, Caleb, Isaac, Jesse and Samuel, beloved sister of Sara (Morey deceased) Speigel, Michael and Tanya Feldman, sister-in-law of Helen and Irving Baker, and the late Frances (Morris) Basen, and late May (Samuel) Spencer, and loving nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, she is mourned by all her family in Ottawa, Vancouver, Toronto and Timmins. Lilian was born in Timmins, graduated from the University of Toronto with BA nd MSW, and lived in Toronto until moving to Ottawa 3 years ago. She helped to launch many young family members and friends through her encouragement and generosity. Greatly loved for her quiet strength, wisdom, graciousness and caring, she was role model for many professionally and in the high value she placed on family. We gratefully acknowledge her wonderful caregivers and staff at Hillel Lodge. Service at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Ave. W, on Tues. Nov. 20th at 1:00 pm. Interment at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park, 5822 Bathurst St. Shiva at 19 Lower Village Gate, Apt.606 following the service, and Wed. from 2:30.
