Thank you, so much, for what you gave and shared with me. I will never forget you and had planned on seeing you again in this life. I'm sad that we won't meet again in this corporeal form. May we meet again somewhere, somehow. Goodbye, Friend.

He was a gem, with many facets. I had the pleasure of sitting with him in both Junction City and Tres Coroas, and for all his brilliant ability with languages, I recall him as a quiet person. As a fellow Buddhist, that quality is truly an inspiration. He translated a beautiful prayer from Tibetan which has been on my refrigerator for over ten years now. He will be missed.

I spent time with Oliver at the Buddhist center in northern California. Drove him down to the airport for an international flight at one point. I found him to be such a lovely, gentle, kind, and somewhat shy individual, but with a really big and warm heart. He and I had great conversations on deep subjects, and I always remember the twinkle in his eye while engaging in debate as he so loved to do. The place we lived was a structured Buddhist center, and I had no idea at the time that he fought the organized Buddhist framework. He would be happy to know that the lama that he studied under at the time fought that as well, and finally left. But it was a wonderful place to be and I remember him smiling a lot and working hard to help forward the vision. Many of those of us who lived there at the time really felt that it was a particularly charmed time and were really thankful for the time spent there. I know Oliver felt the same way. I did several retreats with him during that time. He was one of the individuals I would have loved to reconnected with. I am really sad that he has left all of us here. But am beyond certain that he has moved on to a place where he can continue to grow. Best wishes on your next journey Oliver. You will be missed here.

I am heartbroken for your loss of Oliver. He lived a life that I cannot begin to comprehend. It is remarkable that his story has touched the minds and hearts of so many. Perhaps it is because we all wish to search for something more, but fail to act. His mastery of languages, intelligence and spirituality made him unique and he truly lived on his own terms. I know he will be held forever in your hearts. My sincere condolences to each of you.

"The plain fact is that the planet doesn't need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it"
Rest in Peace, Oliver - you surely embodied the wish of David Orr. Namaste.

What an incredible life, an incredible legacy and an incredible family who allowed this young man to carve his own path in life. He may not have been the typical son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend or the one you had envisioned as an adult with a firm direction in life, but no doubt he will be remembered by many for years to come as a rare gem, one of a kind who lived his life on his terms. God bless him and his family. Maybe he rest in peace looking down on the world.
