Ralph Douglas Parliament died quietly at the Kingston General Hospital on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the age of 80. Retired teacher of chemistry and biology, born in Toronto, on October 23, 1932. Taught in Carleton Place, Bracebridge and Ottawa. Passed his B.Sc. from Carleton University in 1959, and received his Honours B.Sc. from Carleton University in 1964. Taught day school for 29 years, night school for 21 years and summer day school for 7 years; retired June 1988. Predeceased by his parents' Garnott and Daisy Parliament and his brother Wallace. Survived by his daughter Cassandra, and son Garnott, as well as his brother Roger. Ralph was cremated, with no funeral service, and his ashes were scattered to the wind, water and loons around Star Island in big Rideau Lake where he used to windsurf in his younger days.
