At home in his 88th year on December 18, 2012. Beloved husband for more than 60 years of the late Ruth (née O'Grady). Loving father of Judy Chuchryk (Mike), Jim (Joyce), Patricia, Peggy Loyer (Bern), Cathy, Rick (Barbara Bright) and Barb. Also survived by five grandsons - Chris Parent (Kathleen Charron), Kevin Parent (Maxine), David Chuchryk (Srey Bo), Scot Morris and Alex Beaune. Predeceased by a granddaughter, Lauren Morris. Will be fondly remembered by Theresa Séguin, Leah Clement and Ray Parent (Michelle Kostiuk). The family wishes to thank all the palliative medical staff who provided such phenomenal care and support and allowed Dad to remain at home until his death. Family and friends may call at McEvoy- Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (east of Bank St, corner of Albion Road) on January 11, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on January 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Home Chapel, 2865 Riverside Dr. (between Brookfield and Walkley). Reception afterwards in the Library on the first floor. Private inurnment at a later date at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to CHEO or to the Canadian Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. Organ donor cards for the Trillium of Life will also be available at the Funeral Home.
