ANANNY, Roy Fredrick (Bobby) October 11, 1924 - April 12, 2011 In sadness the family announces the passing of Roy Ananny at the age of 86 on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret Elizabeth Girouard, father to Betty Lou Steele (Brampton), Peter Ananny (Terry) of Ottawa and much loved grandfather to Meredith Steele, Adrienne Steele/Whitwell (Graham), Jasen Ananny (Giselle), Julie Burns (David), David Ananny and great grandfather to Sydney Whitwell. Roy was an Ottawa businessman, sportsman, retired realtor, policeman, fireman and played football for the Ottawa Rough Riders. He was a champion athlete; an accomplished hockey player - playing for teams throughout the Ottawa Valley, a curler (Ottawa Curling Club), a basketball player and golfer. Roy traveled the world and spent his retirement years wintering in Florida. He led an extraordinary life and was an exceptionally independent man. The family would like to thank all those who helped him in his final months and especially Dr. Corkery for his kindness and friendship he showed towards our Bobby. At Roy's request the family will celebrate his passing in private.

My deepest sympathies to Peter and Betty-Lou. Your father sold his first house at 555 Guy Street to our Uncle Roy and Aunt Carmel. She so loved that house she never was willing to leave it. Your father gave many happy years to your mother and will be remembered fondly as a very kind and generous man.
