Dear Owens Family:
Sending my condolences to all of you. When I entered St. Mary's School in 1964-65 for the first time, John and Martin were senior students. I believe John was head boy. The third Owens family member I met was Mrs. Owens. She was secretary and I was surprised at how she managed to keep all the Downey families and their children sorted out. A tribute to her organizational skills. With Sympathy.

I’m truly sorry that I can’t be with Stella’s family and many friends as they bid her farewell this morning.
I first met Stella in 1968 when I was hired to teach at St. Mary’s school. She was the heart and soul of St. Mary’s, dedicating her many talents to ensuring that the children who attended the school got the best education possible. She became my friend and mentor. I thank her for the love, support and sensible advice which she shared with me over the years. I was greatly honoured when I was asked to deliver the eulogy at her beloved daughter Mary-Anne’s funeral.
Please accept my most sincere condolences.

Mitch-Marty-John and Families.
We were saddened to learn of Stella's passing and regret that we cannot be with you on Wednesday to celebrate her life. We wanted you to know that we were thinking about you at this time of great family loss. We have not seen alot of Stella in recent years, but our memories from earlier years are rich and vivid. She was always such a warm and generous person. It was always a pleasure to spend a few moments with her. We have many pleasant memories stored away.
We extend our condolences

Mitch, John, Martin & their families.
Our hearts go out to you as we all lose a dear member of our extended family. Both Dad and I have marvelous memories of the many summer visits in the 1950's to the Owens farm.
Stella's hospitality was legion. She had her own way of making everyone feel welcome and important.
And only Aunt Stella would yearly wish me a Merry Christmas in Hawaiian (Mele Kalikimaka).
Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Mitch, John, Martin and families:
God bless Stella. A beautiful lady. I and my family have very fond memories of the Owens family, from my first example of your generosity in July 1971 when I was transferred to Ottawa from Sioux Lookout, Ont. We were welcomed into the "family" by Mitch, Stella and children. My boys, James and Andy, remember with fondness the caring Mrs. Owens at St. Mary's Catholic school in South Gloucester.
My sincere condolances. Xavier McG

Dear Owens Family
We were sad to hear about Aunt Stella yesterday. I dont't think we will be able to attend the service for her but our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of sorrow. We would have loved to be there with you but not enough time to get out. Big hugs to you all.

Our condolences to Cassandra and her family. Although we did not know Stella, Cassandra spoke often and fondly of her.
