Thomas IRVINE Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the untimely death of Thomas Reginald J. Irvine who died tragically after being struck by a drunk driver on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at the age of 40. Cherished son of Reg and Judy (Curley) Irvine. Loved brother of Jeffrey (Patricia). Loved Grandson of Clare Curley, the late Thomas Curley and the late Scott and Christina Irvine. Nephew of Twila (the late Tom) Gilligan, John (Sue) Irvine, Raymond (Bernadette) Irvine, Scott Irvine, Kevin (Marcella) Irvine, Joe Kuehl (the late Opal), Sharon Irvine (the late Bernie) and Brian (Renée) Curley. Fondly remembered and loved by many cousins, his extended family and many good friends. Private family visitation followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis de Sales Church, Smiths Falls on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Blair & Son Funeral Home Reception Centre for family and friends. Interment in the Maritimes at a later date in special place he always loved. In remembrance, contributions to the Ottawa Chapter of M. A. D. D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), Box 24218, Kanata, ON K2M 2C3. 613-236-6233, or charity of choice would be appreciated.

I lost such a nice friend here this week. Even though we never met, we were good friends via Facebook! Tom passed away this week after he was hit by a drunk driver, who then left the scene. Only 40 years old, he is gone way too soon. Tom lived in Smith Falls, Ontario, loved the Doors and especially the lead singer, Jim Morrison. We would chat every once in a great while all of a sudden and never be at a loss for words. He was kind, intelligent and always a gentleman. He is so missed already and will always be in my heart! Rest in Peace my friend! My sympathies to your family and all your many friends!

I was so saddened to hear the news of Thomas' passing. Life seems sooo unfair sometimes!
I remember Thomas from Oromocto in the 80's...I was in school with Jeff at the time. Thomas was such a gentle soul and that is the way I will always remember him.

We are so sorry for your loss. The Wall family here in Oromocto are so sad and absolutely in disbelief over such a tragedy. We remember so many great times with him growing up. My brothers and Thomas and Jeff played ball hockey all the time over on kinney court. So many things can be said but nothing will make us feel better or the Irvine's feel better, but knowing that you have lots of family and friends too try and get through this terrible senseless tragedy. To the Irvine family, you can take us out of the military and it's atmosphere but fact is we will always be a tight community and when saddness happens we all pull together.
